Their Fight in Court and Beyond, Was The Arrest of a Florida Deputy Fair?

West Palm Beach, Fl - When David joined the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in Florida, it was a dream come true. Coming from a family of law enforcement officers, he had always been drawn to this line of work. His wife, Dr. Svetlana “Lana” Kirchevshy-Ur, recalls how much it meant to him.

You can read more and, or listen to David's full interview for free, on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most major podcast platforms.

A Career Cut Short

But David's dream was short-lived. In May 2021, he was accused of making “false reports” and resigned under duress after being threatened with criminal charges. Two days later, he was arrested on four counts of making false official statements. Lana insists that there were no allegations of any crime committed by her husband.

The Fight in Court

The legal battle that followed lasted for years. The State Attorney’s Office repeatedly refiled and changed charges, but eventually, 18 of the 20 charges were dismissed by a judge, and the last two were dropped. Despite being cleared, the damage was lasting.

The Shadow of the Brady List

David's name was placed on the Fifth Circuit State Attorney’s Brady list, a designation meant to flag law enforcement officers with potential credibility issues. For David, this was devastating, effectively barring him from working in law enforcement again.

Sharing Their Story

David and Lana chose to share their journey separately and publicly through The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast. Their story has sparked a larger conversation about fairness, accountability, and the human cost of flawed systems.

Starting Over

The couple has relocated to Palm Coast, Florida, and started anew. They launched Rustic Dough Works, a pizza trailer that has become a local favorite. David continues to fight in court to clear his name.

A Larger Conversation

The story of David's arrest has become a public conversation about law, justice, and the balance of power within the criminal justice system. Through podcasts, news coverage, and social media, David and Lana are turning their pain into a fight for change.
